About Nikos

Nikos is an other food place in Durham, North Carolina. It is listed at BrightLeaf Square, 905 W Main St Unit 21B, Durham, NC 27701, which places it among the local businesses of Durham that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as mediterranean restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

If you were expecting a restaurant, market or cafe and landed on a listing in this group, it usually means the original source listed the business under an unusual or mixed category rather than a plain food label. Contact information, address and hours are still pulled from the same public data used across Durham and North Carolina, so they should be accurate even where the category is not a perfect fit. Because this group spans everything from medical clinics to auto shops to gift stores, there is no single etiquette or norm that applies across it; treat each listing on its own terms and call ahead if the category alone does not tell you what you need to know.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. The most common schedule is 5–9 pm. It is closed on Tuesday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (919) 908-0189. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is nikosdurham.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 992 reviews, which is a strong result for an other food place in Durham and suggests consistent service.

Durham is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Traffic in Durham peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

We enjoyed a lovely Friday evening dinner here without a reservation. Even with a busy dining room, the staff was incredibly welcoming and accommodating, finding a way to seat us after only about a 45-minute wait. Miguel and our waitress were both attentive, friendly, and genuinely made us feel at home. Our party truly enjoyed getting to chat with them just as much as we enjoyed the meal. We started with the Kalamata olives, fresh feta, and warm Greek yogurt pitaβ€”an amazing combination. The Pastitsio in Steroids was outstanding! The bucatini pasta, braised short ribs, and kasseri cheese came together beautifully. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared. You could truly see and taste the quality of the ingredients and the passion that went into every plate. For dessert, our birthday girl chose the Galaktaboureko with Baklava Ice Cream, and it was the perfect ending to an incredible meal. We're not from the Durham area, but if we're ever back in town, this restaurant will absolutely be on our list. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, Nikos, and the entire team, for such a memorable dining experience!

Wonderful from start to finish! We felt enthusiastically welcomed from the moment we stepped up to the door until our goodbyes. Great food-from the famous flaming saganaki to the soup to the halloumi boats to the special Greek dessert (can’t remember the name, but phyllo layered with custard). Very creative cocktails and mocktails served by a delightful, skilled bartender. (Try the pink negroni- wow!) Every server was personable, competent and kind. Very cozy and interesting interior too. Expecting many repeat visits!

Had a wonderful dinner last night at Nikos Restaurant and truly enjoyed the entire experience. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality stood out. The host warmly welcomed us, and both Miguel and Margaret took exceptional care of us throughout the evening. We were celebrating a friend’s birthday, and they went out of their way to make the night feel truly special. The space has a beautiful warmth to it, blending rustic charm with an elegant Mediterranean vibe that immediately sets the tone for a relaxed yet refined evening. The food was absolutely delicious, with mysterious, vibrant flavors that surprise and delight with every bite. Each dish felt thoughtful and beautifully presented. The hospitality and warmth here are truly top-notch, and the service made the entire evening feel effortless and memorable. A lovely spot in Durham that we look forward to visiting again.

I had a phenomenal time at Nikos with a friend for brunch! We admired the decorations and the very pleasing industrial look to the place, and the atmosphere was welcoming. This place feels perfect for a brunch with friends or a date night. The service was also great! They were very attentive and welcoming. But of course, the food. I had the knufe pancakes, my friend had the brioche banana french toast, and we shared the braised short rib grilled cheese. Overall, we loved the creativity of the flavor combinations and really enjoyed the taste and plating of each and every one of our dishes! I particularly liked how my pancakes were sweet because of the syrup and pistachio and savory (because of the mozzarella filling, which reminded me of an arepa). My friend’s french toast was amazing too and I loved how the french toast was spongy and soaked up the flavor from the custard. The short ribs were soft and tender and so flavorful. The texture of everything including the bread, pancakes, and french toast were spot on as well. I have recommended this place to my friends and we’re so excited to go again.

The Union Sourdough Bread was one of the best parts of the meal! Do it! The Crispy Calamari was a nice twist on an old favorite. The Haloumi Lettuce Boats were light and crunchy. The Short Ribs Pastitsio was a little light on the β€œRib” but still very good. While good, the Truffle Ricotta Gnocchi was not the best. Too much salt and the gnocchi was a bit tough for our taste. Excellent wine and the service was fairly good.
